Sampling & Minimum Order Quantities

Minimums, sample terms and production times are quoted per project. This page explains what drives each, so you can plan realistically.

Why sampling comes first

A sample shows the real leather, construction, fit and branding together. Approving a sample before bulk protects both sides: it fixes what "right" looks like for your order, and it becomes the reference for repeats.

What a sample round involves

  1. We confirm the specification with you: leather, lining, hardware, measurements, branding.
  2. The pattern is made and a sample is produced in the agreed materials.
  3. You review it — in person, or from detailed photos and measurements if you prefer.
  4. Changes are noted, and a further sample is made if needed.
  5. You approve the final sample in writing.

Sample cost, timing and how it is shipped to you are stated in the quotation.

What determines the minimum order

  • Leather lots. Leather is bought by the hide or by lot. Unusual colours or finishes often have their own minimums.
  • Colours and sizes. Each colour and size adds set-up and material planning; the same total spread across fewer variations is easier to produce.
  • Custom components. Branded hardware, dies and printed packaging have their own minimums.
  • Construction. Complex products take longer to set up on the line.

What determines production time

  • Order quantity and construction complexity
  • Availability of the chosen leather and components
  • Time for custom hardware, dies or packaging
  • Number of sample rounds before approval
  • The production schedule when you confirm the order

Your quotation gives a production time for your order once these are known. Add your target delivery date to your request so we can tell you early if it is realistic.

Planning a first order as a new brand

Keep the first run focused: fewer styles and colours, a sensible size spread, and standard hardware with a branded label or debossed logo. Add custom hardware and packaging once the product has proved itself.

Shipping

Tell us your destination and preferred trade terms (for example FOB or DDP). We can work with your forwarder or discuss delivery options in the quotation.
